Looking back on a history of more than 300 years in teaching theology the Katholisch-Theologische Privatuniversität Linz is one of Austria’s oldest scientific institutions and the first to be accredited as a private university. The University promotes dialogue between the traditional history and current issues. Over 30 scientists and science teachers teach theological, philosophical and historical disciplines: Old and New Testament, fundamental theology and dogmatics, catechists, religious education and teaching, church history and patrology, canon law, liturgy and sacramental theology, moral theology, pastoral theology and social theory, art history and aesthetics, philosophy, history and systematic philosophy.
With its course specialization “Business – Ethics – Society”, the affiliated Institute of Caritas Sciences, the dialogue between religion, theology and art, and the personal atmosphere the KTU puts theology in a social context.
